色の協議会/The Council of Colorsは、開発部内において、カラー・パイを監視するために設立されたデザイナーのチーム。色の評議会とも訳される。

設立の経緯
かつてはMark Rosewaterがカラー・パイの守護者/protector of the color pieあるいはカラー・パイ・グル/color pie guruとして1人でその役目を負っていたが、多忙によりその地位を返上。上司であるAaron Forsytheから「将来のマジックに集中するためにもっと時間を空けるように」強く要求されていた。
彼は、Erik Lauerに教育されたデベロップ・チーム全員がコストの質問に答えられるのと同じように、デザイン・チーム全員にカラー・パイを教育することが第一歩だと判断した。しかし数学的なコストと違って、カラー・パイに筋が通っているかどうかは感覚の問題であり、またテーマに合わせて常に曲げられるものであるため、満足するほど定まった答えは生まれなかった。
すべての新カードを監視するのはかなりの仕事であるため、責任を色ごとに分割し、カラー・パイを監視するチームを作るというアイデアをMark Gottliebが提案。見つかった懸念は全員が参加する会議に提出し、詳細まで話し合うこととなった。その後も協議会のやり方は、設立当初からずっと進化し続けている[1]。
- （デジタルフォーマット以外に影響しないような）単なる再録には関わっていない[2][3]。例えばストリクスヘイヴン：魔法学院のミスティカルアーカイブでは、ヒストリックのカードプールに影響するにも関わらず調和/Harmonizeや信仰無き物あさり/Faithless Lootingといったカードが収録されている。
