現在11種類存在する基本土地の1つ。もちろん皆勤賞である。特殊タイプの「基本」と基本土地タイプの「山」を持つ。
火炎破/Fireblastや火猫の襲撃/Firecat Blitz、ラースのドラゴン/Rathi Dragonなど、何かと生け贄に捧げられることが多い。最強カードの話になると島/Islandといっしょに出てくることがあるが、その主な理由はこれらの山を生け贄に捧げるカードの存在だろう。
- カード名としての山を参照しているカードはないが、「基本の山」を参照するGoblin Cavesが存在する。
- 厳密には冠雪の山/Snow-Covered Mountainも基本の山であるため、このカードのみを参照するわけではない。
- 手違いでアラビアンナイトにも収録されたので、全カードの中で最も生産された枚数が多いと思われることもあるが、テーマデッキなどでの差分を考えると正確なところは不明である。

リミテッド・エディション初出の基本土地のサイクル。
ルール文章の中で単に「森」などと書かれていた場合、それらはカード名ではなく基本土地タイプを参照している（CR:109.2）。基本土地のカード名を参照する場合はニッサの激励/Nissa's Encouragementのように「《森/Forest》という名前のカード/a card named Forest」などと書かれる。
