2[[マナ]]の1/2[[バニラ]]・[[クリーチャー]]。「[[ウィニー]]が強い[[白]]」に在って、異端の弱さ。完全な[[上位互換]][[カード]]を挙げれば切りが無い。

初収録の[[ザ・ダーク]]当時でさえ、既に[[アラビアンナイト]]の[[悔悟せる鍛冶屋/Repentant Blacksmith]]が存在していた上、[[時のらせん]][[再録]]まで時を下る頃には1マナで1/2の[[献身の勇士/Devoted Hero]]や、加えてプラス[[能力]]持ちの[[新星の僧侶/Nova Cleric]]と[[献身的な世話人/Devoted Caretaker]]が存在しており、その突出した弱さが見て取れる。

*白以外の2マナの1/2バニラを見てみると、[[青]]に[[ヴォーデイリアの兵士/Vodalian Soldiers]]、[[アーティファクト・クリーチャー]]に[[後陣のマイア/Omega Myr]]がいる。もちろん、それらも全く使われていない。
*[[時のらせん]]で[[タイムシフト]]カードとして[[再録]]。これに伴って[[クリーチャー・タイプ]]がスクワイアー(Squire)から[[人間]]・[[兵士]]へと変更された（スクワイアーは絶滅）。また、同セットにもやはり上位互換カードが存在（[[ベナリアの騎兵/Benalish Cavalry]]、タイムシフト枠の[[オーラトグ/Auratog]]）。再録はクリーチャー・タイプの整理も兼ねていたのではないだろうか。
